[Malaysia] Public Consultation on Standard Protection of Personal Data
On 1 October 2024, the Jabatan Perlindungan Data Peribadi (JPDP), Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Department, announced that it had published two papers for public consultation:

Public Consultation Paper No. 05/2024: Guidelines Cross-Border Transfer of Personal Data

What
The Personal Data Protection Regulations 2013 allows the Commissioner to prescribe Standards in relation to security, retention, and data integrity. The Commissioner wishes to update the Personal Data Protection Standards 2015 and bring them in line with international best practices.
